In the early years Pocono Pool & Spa was known as Pocono Pool Products. Started in 1981 by Mark Vultaggio, young, newly out of college and backed by a 20 year family history in the swimming pool business, he set out on his own to build a company specializing in the wholesale manufacturing of vinyl swimming pool liners. As the manufacturing business began to excel and Mark realized the need for a reputable swimming pool retail and service company in the area, he made the decision to expand and utilize his vast knowledge in the construction and retail field to service the Pocono and surrounding area. Ultimately as word spread and the operation began to grow, he turned a small portion of the manufacturing building into a retail store and began to operate this division of his operations as Pocono Pool & Spa. In April of 1987, after continued growth with the business, Mark hired Robin Diffenderfer (Holmqvist) to assist in the daily activities of the business. Robin, whose family had also been in the swimming pool business for over 20 years, assisted him with the daily retail store operations, as well as, the servicing of pools, installation of liners and construction of new pools. Over the next few years the company, which was rapidly out growing their small cramped offices, moved the entire retail, service and construction operations to a larger facility on Route 390 in Cresco. Over the next several years the business continued its growth and went from 2 to nearly 40 full and part-time dedicated employees. In 2008, and after devoting the past 27 years developing and managing five separate organizations, Mark made the decision to draw back his involvement with the businesses. On January 1, 2009 the vinyl liner manufacturing business known as Pocono Pool Products and the retail location in Cresco known as Pocono Pool & Spa was officially purchased by Robin Diffenderfer Holmqvist. Pocono Pool & Spa LLC was born. As part of the sale-purchase, a decision was agreed upon that Mark would continue to operate the in-ground new pool construction business under a new corporation called Pocono Pool & Construction, while Robin would continue operations of the retail store, service department, above ground pool installations and renovation departments under the new corporation. To this day, while Robin focuses on the various departments and locations of Pocono Pool & Spa LLC, Mark can be found in the field creating another beautiful backyard oasis.

As Pocono Pool & Spa continued to grow, Robin began the search for a second retail store location which would be more centrally located and convenient for our vast customer base. After years of searching for the right location, Robin was fortunate to find it on Route 611 in Stroudsburg. Following months of renovations, fresh paint and a significant amount of dedicated hard work by our staff, Pocono Pool & Spa LLC – Stroudsburg opened its doors on May 1, 2012. Pocono Pool & Spa LLC has gone through many positive changes over the years and we are grateful to have such an outstanding and dedicated staff and to also such loyal customers.
